Chair Yoga is one of the most approachable forms of yoga. This practice allows participants to benefit from breathwork, meditation, stretching, and exercise while using a chair for support. Both standing and seated postures can be incorporated in a Chair Yoga class. Chair Yoga is great for anyone who sits in a seat throughout the day for work or school. It is an excellent practice for everyone of all ages as it deepens flexibility, maintains and restores balance, and strengthens personal body awareness.
Chair Yoga classes are fantastic for senior fitness centers, retirement facilities, and adult daycare centers, and they allow you to adapt your classes to accommodate those who may have limited mobility. Chair Yoga has also become more widely incorporated into schools! It gives the students a chance to slow down by learning how to breathe, meditate, and have fun doing poses at their desks during the school day.
In this two-day, 8-hour course, you will learn how to make the yoga asanas accessible to a wider range of students. Learn how to become more creative in your expression of movement while using a chair as your core prop. This practice has unlimited potential and invites you to use your imagination!
