This class is designed as an introduction to the practice of yoga. Class is slower paced than an All Level class and focused on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses.
Students of all levels are invited to join these classes. Clear instruction is given in breathing technique, warm-up and posture flow. New students will develop body awareness, posture alignment and core strength in basic poses, while experienced students are encouraged to explore advanced variations in familiar postures. Everyone works to his or her own ability and comfort level.
Gentle Flow is a vinyasa-based yoga class with a slower pace than our All Level classes. Poses will be held longer to allow time for the breath and for a more easeful flow, affording you the space to ground your energy and fully experience each pose. Pranayama (breath work) will also be emphasized. This class is appropriate for all levels.
STRETCH & STRENGTHEN
This class is designed to stretch and strengthen targeted muscle groups, including the core, with the aim of helping the student build a strong, stable foundation in order to safely navigate more advanced yoga poses. Appropriate for all levels of experience. Excellent for beginners who would like to transition to all level classes.
Go beyond the basics and discover new challenges in our intermediate level yoga classes. You will be guided through postures that require sustained concentration and muscle support. You will learn the correlation between breath and movement, adding vitality to your practice and helping you build strength, flexibility and balance.
Yin is a healthy, mindful complement to more rigorous flow classes and an ideal starting place for new practitioners. Yin postures are practiced seated or lying on the floor and held for 3-5 minutes, allowing the musculature to relax and release into each pose. Beginning exactly where you are feels different for every body, and dedication to yin practice transforms flexibility over time by freeing up the tight connective tissue capsules that form around the muscles and joints. Guided holds in each posture offer an opportunity for inner reflection, meditation, and peace. Emerge from this practice feeling physically, emotionally, and spiritually renewed. Suitable for all levels.
Restorative yoga is a gentle, calming, therapeutic kind of yoga that uses props to support the body as it eases into relaxation and balance. This meditative practice cultivates a necessary balance between body and mind while dissolving physical and mental tension. For any level of student seeking to reduce the effects of stress, including students working with injury or sensitivity. Suitable for all levels.
In this class you will learn how to calm your mind, settle your body and achieve healing of the mind, body and spirit. Beginners to practicing meditators will benefit from this class.
You are welcome to participate in our Reiki Shares if you have a Reiki I Certification or higher. This is a great opportunity to practice your Reiki and also receive Reiki.
